Special features:
- Razor Clam also known as finger snail, belongs to a class of soft-bodied animals with two shell pieces, classified under the clam family.
- They inhabit coastal areas with deep mud or sand. They often live in mud or sand at the sea entrance and are commonly found in regions near large river mouths. Razor Clam mainly feed on detritus and filter-feeding organisms.
- They are distributed in tropical and temperate seas. In Vietnam, Razor Clam can be found along the coast from the North to the South.
- Razor Clam have a body length of approximately 6-10 cm. They are often observed in an upright position, with the lower part of their foot deeply embedded in mud or sand.
- The Razor Clam shell is brownish-yellow, slightly open and the flesh inside is pale white, protruding from the shell.
- In Vietnam, Razor Clam harvesting occurs throughout the year, but it is particularly concentrated around the beginning of the rainy season, typically around May or June
