- Apple Snail is a soft-bodied mollusk. In Vietnam, Apple Snail are found in lakes, rivers, canals, ditches, and fields with a significant distribution in the Western and Northern regions. Apple Snail thrive during the rainy season and they have a breeding season in May every year.
- Apple Snail have a thin shell, a pointed and rounded tail and their shell is typically black-brown. Apple Snail can live both underwater and on land due to their siphon and lung-like organ. They can endure dry conditions for several months by sealing their shell and burying themselves in the ground; when they encounter water, they can resume normal activity. Apple Snail lay eggs and have a relatively fast reproductive rate.
