Special features:
- The Sand Goby also known as the White Sand Goby, is a species of ray-finned fish. In Vietnam, the Sand Goby is widely distributed in both Can Tho and Ben Tre province. This fish has a diverse diet, including small crustaceans such as shrimp, krill, crabs, organic detritus and various planktonic organisms.
- The sand goby is a small fish with a slender and flat body. Its eyes are positioned almost horizontally on the top of the head and the goby’s eyes are slightly bulging and large. The lower jaw of the sand goby protrudes slightly.
- The mouth slit extends to the front edge of the eye socket. Mature sand gobies typically have a length of about 4-5 cm. These fish lay eggs and usually reproduce during the summer months from May to August each year.
