- Big Eyes Scad belongs to the Perciformes order. These fish are often found in tropical regions. In Vietnam, It is distributed in the Gulf of Tonkin, Central Vietnam, as well as in the Northern, Central and Southern coastal areas.
- Big Eyes Scad have large eyes and their habitat extends across the coastal regions of North Vietnam, Central Vietnam, as well as the East and Southwest of South Vietnam. They feed on small fish, amphibians or other soft-bodied creatures. The spawning period for Big Eyes Scad typically occurs from May to November.
- The Big Eyes Scad has a distinctive appearance with a slightly elongated and laterally compressed body. It features a relatively long, pointed and wide mouth, with the lower jaw protruding more than the upper jaw. The upper lip is narrow, while the lower lip is wide and thick.
- Mature Big eyes scad typically grow to a length of about 14 to 16 cm. One notable characteristic is the development of the upper jawbone, extending downward to the front edge of the eye socket. Additionally, the head of the Big Eyes Scad is larger compared to its body.
