Special Features:
- Baby bonito are known belongs to the family of mackerel and tuna. They typically inhabit regions of the sea with depths of under 50 meters and tend to live in groups with a very large number. In Vietnam, baby bonito are primarily distributed in the coastal regions of Central Vietnam. The ideal temperature for the development of cá ngừ ồ is around 27-29 degrees Celsius.
- Baby bonito closely resembles tuna in shape but is relatively small in size. The largest baby bonito individuals are only about 50 centimeters in length. They have a spindle-shaped body, round and slightly flattened at the head. Their skin is relatively smooth, with a silvery-colored belly and distinctive triangular-shaped green fins on their backs. Baby bonito have large heads, pointed mouths and scales running along their dorsal side from head to tail, making them easily recognizable.
- Their breeding season falls during the summer and each breeding season, they can lay 2 to 3 million eggs. After being fertilized, the eggs will hatch into tuna larvae in about 48 hours.
